Supporting early careers and developing talent

The LCR Connect joint venture partners are committed to an inclusive recruitment campaign and so far, have recruited 20 permanent positions.

The team engaged with City of Liverpool College to ensure positions are available to provide early careers opportunities to attract talent to the construction industry and to reach a wide pool of local residents.

We are also excited to announce that our apprenticeship campaign, in partnership with City of Liverpool College, is well and truly underway!

Earlier this month, seven apprentices in Marketing, Business Administration, Fibre Optics, Civil Engineering Design Management and SHEQ were welcomed to the team and we can’t wait to see them develop and contribute to the success of the new network build.

The LCR Connect team is also keen to support training and guidance for local people in need of guidance and up-skilling.

We aim to work with the Combined Authority, charities and chambers to ensure we can maximise a positive and inclusive community impact.

To ease the skills shortage that the construction industry is currently facing, we will be reaching out to local schools, colleges, universities and training providers to encourage the next generation into the construction industry by supporting careers events, workshops, mentoring, industry days, offering sites visits and work experience.
