LCR Connect For Good

‘LCR Connect For Good‘ is the social value and community activity of the LCR Connect joint venture. It encompasses the work we undertake with schools and communities, the wellbeing of our staff and suppliers, and  the charitable support we provide through to our non-profit involvement with third sector partners. Our Social Value strategy is implemented through our joint venture partners, prioritising social and digital inclusion, employment skills and the environment.

Tackling the Digital Divide

One of the core aims of our social value strategy is to connect as many people as possible across the Liverpool City Region to gigabit-capable services, helping to eliminate the digital divide as a barrier to opportunity. This includes partnering with schools and colleges to raise aspirations through careers, skills, and employment programmes for the next generation.

Greater access to affordable, reliable connectivity means more opportunities for individuals, stronger communities, and a more dynamic local economy. Businesses can operate more efficiently, public services become more dependable, and the region benefits as a whole.

We’re committed to delivering a sustainable social value programme that supports the Liverpool City Region both now and in the future.

Collaboration Highlights

Inspiring the Next-Generation of Talent

As part of Careers Week, our HR, Planning, and Engineering teams delivered engaging career talks to SEN students at Riverside College. The sessions were designed to build confidence, broaden awareness of potential career paths, and encourage students to see new opportunities in the world of work.

Empowering Future Innovators

Through our partnership with InnovateHer, we’re helping to inspire girls and non-binary young people across the Liverpool City Region to pursue careers in STEM. Alongside our joint-venture partner ITS, we’re working with teachers, parents, and students to showcase the exciting opportunities in the digital and technology sectors.

Connecting Creative Communities

Make CIC is the first of many community hubs to benefit from a free ultrafast connection through the LCR Connect Community Hubs initiative. With 12 months of gigabit-capable broadband, Make supports local artists, makers, and small businesses—offering affordable workspaces, event areas, and digital access for the wider community.
